LEMON ESSENCE detoxifying and purifying

 Latin name: Citrus limon. Distilled part: zest. Family: Rutaceae


limonene: 60 to 70%

β-pinene: 10 to 17%

γ-terpinene: 7 to 12%

 Lemons are mainly cultivated in the Mediterranean basin. Spain and Italy are leading citrus producers. Its fruit grows all year round and can be picked at any time. Lemon is a natural hybrid of Cedra, Lime and Grapefruit. It is rich in vitamin C and was used by the Greeks and Romans sailors to avoid scurvy disease during sailing.

Lemon essential oil is extracted from the zest. It takes about 100 kg of lemons to obtain 4 kg of zest. 

It is rich in about 70% limonene which is antiseptic and antiviral. Lemon essential oil is widely used in cleaning products for its purifying and sanitizing action. Not only perfumers love lemon essential oil for its fresh and tart smell, but also cooking chefs use it in food for its good taste. The lemon essential oil has bactericidal and antioxidant action and is a natural food preservative.

Health: anti-nausea, digestive tonic, immunostimulant

Lemon essential oil is antiseptic +++ and antiviral because it is rich in limonene and beta-pinene. These properties act directly on bacteria and viruses but also regulate the hepatic system, in particular, nausea for pregnant women and motion sickness. It also promotes the secretion of bile and is an excellent digestive tonic.


 Tired of morning nausea and you are more than 12 weeks pregnant? This recipe will help you:

  • dilute 1 drop of lemon essential oil in 1 teaspoon of honey or olive oil
  • take orally 3x times a day


 Use this recipe only for children from 3 years old. This will reduce car sickness:

  • dilute 1 drop of lemon essential oil in 1 teaspoon of honey or olive oil
  • you can also let the child breathe lemon essential oil if necessary


Do not use for children under 12 years old!  


  • 40 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • 40 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • 40 drops of Rosemary essential oil with Verbénone
  • 20 drops of Juniper essential oil

1 drop in 1 tsp of honey or olive oil twice a day before meals for 3 weeks. 


Add a few drops of lemon to your diffuser to purify the air, alone or with other essential oils like ravintsara and tea tree essential oils.

Beaty Tips

Thanks to its balancing, lipid-lowering and purifying properties, the lemon essential oil can be used for cellulite, water retention, acne-prone skin, brittle nails, oily hair.


 Dilute 3 to 4 drops of lemon essential oil in a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Apply directly and massage the needed are (hips, thighs, buttocks). For more effectiveness mix with Atlas cedar essential oil:

  • 30 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • 30 drops of Atlas Cedar essential oil
  • 10ml drops of Rosehip oil

Do not expose your skin to the sun within 4 hours after application because lemon essential oil is photosensitizing and you will get a sunburn.


Prepare this hair mask before you wash your hair. Jojoba oil and lemon essential oil are both very balancing. This mask will not leave a greasy feeling after. 

  • add 2-3 drops of lemon essential oil into jojoba oil
  • leave for 30 minutes 
  • wash your hair with shampoo as usual


This quick and easy recipe will help your nail to look good and strong. Mix in a small bowl:

  • lemon juice
  • a little soap
  • 3 drops of lemon essential oil
  • immerse your nails for 5-10 min.

Home: household product, clean the atmosphere

The lemon essential oil can be used in cleaning. Its properties are disinfectant, anti-bacterial, antiviral and antiseptic.


Add a few drops of lemon essential oil in your household disinfectant. Mix it with white vinegar and use it for bathroom or window cleaning.


Perfect and easy recipe. This solid home cleaner is good for all kinds of surfaces, especially for shiny ones. It cleanses, disinfects, leaves a polished look on sinks, hobs, showers. 

  • 4 TBSP of white clay
  • 2 TBS of Marseille soap
  • 2 TBSP of water
  • 1 TBSP baking soda
  • 20 drops of lemon essential oil 

❗️Remember: always use wood, glass or ceramic utensils to mix white clay❗️

  1. Melt the Marseille soap in the water using a double water bath.
  2. Mix together clay, baking soda gradually add the melted soap in a glass or ceramic container.
  3. Mix all the ingredients with a wooden spoon and add the essential oils.
  4. Add everything in a large glass jar to be able to take it more easily later.
  5. Leave to dry for a week without closing the lid. You will have very dry cleaning claystone. 


The essential oil is allergenic and photosensitizing:

  • Never apply undiluted lemon essential oil to the skin
  • do not use on women who are pregnant under 12 weeks and children under 3 years old.
